4. Groups
4.1 Creating Groups
For students to begin playing the Simulation, the instructor must create a Group. Groups allow you to keep student performance results organized by class, school, region, or any other grouping that you prefer. Students can join multiple groups.
Use the Instructor Dashboard to create a Group. Instructors have the option to focus students on specific activities.
- Follow the on-screen directions to choose your Group settings.
- Copy and share the 7-digit Group number with your students. Students will join your Group and be able to play the Simulation. Instructors can also use the Group Number to play as a student.
- When students join your Group number, they will automatically appear on your Instructor Dashboard. Rostering is automated so you do not have to input student names or other information.
- Follow the on-screen directions to choose your Group settings.
Students cannot play the Simulation until an instructor provides them with a Group number. You must give students a Group number. Students can log in to view the Business Superhero Book and the User Guide before they receive a Group number. This allows you to get students set up with their login accounts in advance of having them do a specific activity.
Instructors can play the Simulation as a student by clicking PLAY AS A STUDENT. It is highly recommended that instructors play GoVenture for a few minutes to experience the options available in the program.

4.2 Group Settings
When creating a Group, you must choose the business type to include — Lemonade Stand, Kiosk Business, or Full Business. See additional information in section 6.3 Types of Businesses & Products
To have students play a different business type, create a new Group — do not edit an existing Group to change business type. For example, to have students play Lemonade Stand, Kiosk Business, and Full Business, you have to create three Groups and will have three different Group numbers that you can share with students. You to control when students are allowed to move from one business type to the other by witholding the Group numbers until you are ready for them to play.
When creating a Group, you have the option to include a Microlearning Collection, Rubric Score, and more.
4.3 Monitoring Students
When students join a Group number, their progress and performance will appear on the Instructor Dashboard under Groups & Reports > View Performance Reports
A summary table is provided with student names that can be clicked to view full details for each individual student.
4.4 Duplicating Groups for New Student Cohorts
GoVenture includes a COPY feature that makes it easy to duplicate Groups from past student cohorts, allowing you to start fresh with a new cohort while keeping similar Group settings.
Follow these steps:
On your Instructor Dashboard, click Groups & Reports
In the ACTIONS menu, click Create New Group
Choose COPY Settings
Enter a name for the Group — we recommend a format similar to this: Lemonade | BUS101 SEP2027
Copy the new Group Number
Review the settings to see if there is anything you want to change, particularly the Play Limit calendar date, if set. Then click SAVE
Repeat these steps for each Group you want to duplicate. Update your syllabus as needed.
